The Connect Warming Centre - For vulnerable persons experiencing homelessness

Provided by Comox Valley Transition Society

Provides a safe, welcoming space for vulnerable individuals experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness.
Provides a safe, warm place where people experiencing homelessness can take refuge during cold weather. It is a space where people can escape inclement weather, access bathrooms, enjoy light refreshments, access wifi and be connected to other supports. The goal of CONNECT is to help reduce homelessness by providing support and resources to individuals that may assist them in obtaining and maintaining housing.

Along with providing an escape from the cold, the centre has outreach workers who help people access housing and living support, and with tasks such as filling out forms. There are two staff members on-site at all times.
