Provided by L'Arche Comox Valley

A multi-purpose facility in Courtenay offering various social and recreational activities for individuals with and without disabilities.
The Centre is a multi-purpose facility in a residential area close to the downtown core. The ground floor houses a spacious community centre for educational and social activities, with activity rooms and studios, a large drop-in foyer, and a state-of-the-art kitchen.

The I Belong Centre (IBC) is a community hub, a welcoming place where people can discover their unique, often hidden, talents through creative and social activities. The IBC is open to everyone, with or without diverse abilities. People with all levels of ability over the age of 19 are welcome.

Some of the programs offered are:
  • Creative Candle Making: Learn the process of making candles, from mold preparation, choosing colour chips, and finally, labelling the finished product.
  • Exploring Art Together (EAT): Create original works using paint and mixed media and engage in great conversations.
  • Friday Drop-in Coffee: All are welcome. Coffee and tea are provided.
  • L'Arche Seniors Circle: this is an opportunity for seniors of all ages to gather and enjoy lunch and each other's company every Monday from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. There are outings on the last Monday of each month as well. Participation in the Seniors Circle is $5.00 and is open to all seniors with and without developmental disabilities. Please call the centre to register today!
