Residential Housing Programs - Mental Health and Disabilities

Provided by Communitas Supportive Care Society

Provides various housing options for individuals with mental health conditions and disabilities.
The following programs are offered:
  • Assisted Living: Semi-independent, temporary living with supports towards long-term independence in the community. Offered for mental health conditions in the Fraser Valley.
    Services are accessed through referrals from the Chilliwack Mental Health Centre. Eligibility requires an open case file and connection to a CMH case manager. Once referred, there are no associated costs for the individual accessing the services.
  • Home Share: Community-based living situation in a family setting. Support is provided by a contracted caregiver from the community. Offered for developmental disabilities in the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island.
  • Residential Care for Adults: Full-time residential care by trained staff in a small home setting. Residents are encouraged to participate within the home and community. Offered for mental health and developmental disabilities in the Fraser Valley, Okanagan and Vancouver Island.
  • Matthew’s House: Matthew’s House provides quality care in a beautiful home-like environment to youth aged 16-24 who live with complex care needs, as they transition into adulthood. Offered for developmental disabilities in the Fraser Valley.
  • Residential Care for Children and Youth: Care in a home setting for children and youth with complex needs including medical conditions, mental health concerns and significant behavioural challenges. Offered for mental health and developmental disabilities in the Fraser Valley, and Vancouver Island. A referral from the Ministry for Children and Family Development is required to access residential care for children.
