Y Mind Teen - Group-Based Mental Health Wellness Program

Offers a free seven-week psycho-educational and support group for teens ages 13-18 experiencing mild to moderate anxiety.
Y Mind Teen program supports teens ages 13 to 18 who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety to learn and practice evidence-based strategies to cope with stress and anxiety. Y Mind Teen is led by trained mental health professionals and gives teens the chance to connect with others who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings. Made possible through our funding partners.

The group provides a safe, supportive environment where youth can meet others who have had similar experiences and includes:
  • Free, seven-week program, both virtually and in person, for those experiencing mild-to-moderate anxiety or stress
  • Learn proven coping skills and meet peers who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings
  • Each session is 1.5 hours long and is offered one evening a week, for seven weeks
  • Must be available to attend one information session to sign up, and all seven sessions that follow
  • Participants receive free YMCA membership for up to 12- 14 weeks. Note: Only available at select YMCA’s

Eligibility:
  • Ages 13-18
  • Experiencing anxiety, stress, and worrying (no formal diagnosis required)
  • Ability to attend an Information Session as well as all 6 group sessions
  • Not currently experiencing moderate to severe mental health symptoms
